Who We Are

Felbridge, a 140,000ft2 greenhouse facility based in the Western Cape region of South Africa, is a licensed producer of medicinal cannabis for the domestic and export markets. 

As leading cultivators and users of greenhouse technologies with over fifty years experience in farming various hydroponic crops, Felbridge is well placed to be at the forefront of the South African medicinal cannabis market and thereby assist in leading the local industry forward in a safe and responsible manner.

Management Team

Leslie Zetler

Leslie has a higher diploma in Production Management and an MBA from the University of Cape Town. His career started in consulting followed by his current tenure at Limberlost where he is Group Technical Director and CEO of Felbridge. Leslie has 17 years of cultivation and management experience. His primary focus is the cultivation of vegetables in hydroponic greenhouses as well as the cultivation of strawberries in both soil and soilless mediums. Leslie also oversees the quality assurance function which includes compliance to GlobalGAP as well as all retail food standards. Leslie is registered with South Africa’s Department of Agriculture and holds a PCO licence.

Julian Zetler

Julian holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Rhodes University. He has been CEO of Limberlost for over 25 years and is Felbridge’s COO. In his time at Limberlost, Julian has built the company into one of the largest strawberry producers in the country with supply contracts into all major South African retailers. He has also overseen the move from outdoor cultivation into hydroponic greenhouse cultivation. He has grown the business from a small fruit business with 150 employees into a supplier with the most consistent track record in the industry with over 550 employees growing over 3000 tonnes of fresh produce annually.

Barry Zetler

Barry graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Finance and Accounting as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting in 2004. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 2007 and completed his articles with PricewaterhouseCoopers in early 2008. Barry then relocated to Johannesburg where he joined the finance team of Shanduka Coal, a subsidiary of Glencore, where he was primarily involved in a financial management role overseeing the various coal mines and development assets held in the portfolio. In 2012, Barry relocated back to Cape Town to join Limberlost as CFO and oversees its investments, including all financial and accounting functions, in the agricultural, retail, fuel and property sectors and has been appointed as the CFO of Felbridge.

Gregory Rodrigues

Gregory holds a Bachelor of Business of Science (Finance) Honors from the University of Cape Town, and is a Chartered Accountant registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. He completed his articles in Cape Town before moving to New York where he worked in advisory for Ernst and Young. He has over 13 years’ experience working in top financial institutions and investment banks in New York, London and Cape Town, primarily focused on debt raising, capital restructuring and cash management. He is currently studying towards his PGDIP in Future Studies at the University of Stellenbosch’s Business School.

Brent Shapiro

Brent graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Finance and Accounting and receiving a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting in 2003. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 2006 and completed his Articles with Mazars in early 2007. In August 2007, Brent joined Investec where he worked in both the Equity Structuring and Financial Products divisions. He was involved in corporate structuring using equity derivatives as well as the structuring and hedging of BEE transactions for listed companies. He left Investec in 2012 to start his own consultancy that would allow him to focus more on small businesses and ways in which to add value to start up enterprises. Brent was then approached by a client to become the CFO of Creo Capital Partners, a US based private equity firm and hedge fund, a role he occupied from 2014 to 2017. This led Brent to his current position of CFO and head investment finance lecturer at iXperience which allows him to both focus on finance as well as teach it to students from universities in the United States and abroad.
